PRECIOUS MIRACLE...

PRECIOUS MIRACLES & ETC...

It has been almost a couple of months since I have worked on my blog. I think that I have a pretty good reason...not an excuse for taking some time off.

A couple of months ago on (6/03/10) I was in a very serious "HORSE ACCIDENT" !! That date will be one that we will probably never ever be forgotten... by myself...my sweet hubby and many family members and of course my dear friends. It may still be a couple of months before I can work with my horses and ride again but... I'm very fortunate to still be here to share some great things "to come" on my blog. :)

I want everyone to know that my "TIGGER" was not responsible. Most people would assume that since he is only a "TWO" year old!! ...But thank goodness it was not the case!! It was just one of those "FREAK ACCIDENTS" that every cowgirl or cowboy "NEVER" wants to experience!

Lets move on to something more positive and rewarding !!!

We just recently retired one of our performance horses (LUCY) !!
She let us know one day after being so loving and patient with one of our granddaughter's...(CASSIDY). Our granddaughter did many miles in the arena with her without even one complaint. Interesting enough that was the 1st time she ever had a child put on her back for a ride. So needless to say because of that experience and many more...Steve and I made a decision to donate her to a wonderful facility in Yakima...called "PEGASUS PROJECT". It is a beautiful ~ wonderful ~ loving ~ caring ranch that helps "many special needs" with children and even some adult disabilities. Coincidentally, one of out adult friends is benefiting each week with his therapy sessions... our hope is that he will be able to ride our Lucy very soon!!

Our "great" veterinarian "KALIE MERCER" was the one that suggested this place for our precious Lucy. We then decided to go for a visit/tour of the facility/ranch. At the end of our visit/tour we couldn't think of a better place for our Lucy to live out the rest of her years. She is only 11 years old and most of the horses that they purchase or that are donated are usually closer to their twenties. So once Lucy passes "all" her tests/training and is finished with her 8 weeks trial period...she will graduate and become of the "BEST" Pegasus therapy horse's ever !!!

The gal that has been working very closely with Lucy is Caitlin..it sounds like they are making a great team...even if I feel just a little heart broken & jealous. I have a note from her that I would like to share with you all. ~~I just received this today (07/29/10)~~

I just wanted to let you both know that Lucy had a "AWESOME" training session yesterday. A volunteer led her and I was on her. We were doing rider movement and noise, and nothing I did fazed her! She put up with me screaming, bouncing, hugging her, getting off balance, turning around backwards, touching her croup (under her tail) and ears and squeezing my legs. She continued to pay attention to her leader and not once did she seriously object to anything I was doing. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to work with such a cool mare.
Caitlin
