"RANCH SORTING CLINIC"

Warm Up !!

We had "WHITE" horses !!We had "SPOTTED" horses !!

We even had a few "BROWN" horses !!

We had a huge crowd of riders and auditors.

We were really surprised at the huge turn out !!

There definitely is a huge interest in the area to learn this sport !!

We found "OLD GLORY" tucked away and decided that she needed to shine for the day !!

Steve on foot demonstrating the correct way to sort the cattle.
He really does do a good job even if he's not riding his horse Rocky !!

I don't think he could put on a Clinic "without" his hands !! LOL!!

Steve and Rocky showing everyone how it's done right !!

Amber finally getting one to go thru the opening (the whole) !!

Good Job !!

Steve and Amber showing the crowd how having a team member makes it more fun !!

Steve's "Ranch Sorting Clinic" that he put on last weekend ( 4/23/11) was a huge success!

We had 20 people on horse back and a lot more just leaning on the rails.

The class was especially put on for beginner/novice riders.

There was a lot of interest in learning a new game for them and their horses.

Steve did a awesome job !!

I wish you all could of been there !!

I (Nedra)was able to video tape most of the Clinic...who knows we might even ad another video on... "YOU TUBE" !!
Now I can say that I live and sleep with a "FAMOUS CLINICIAN" !!

Stay tuned...there just might be another one around the corner !!

TIGGER TIME...

I was very lucky to be able to attend a clinic this weekend at BONINA RANCH in ELTOPIA.

The Clinician was Keith Danielson. He has won many Trail Challenges over the past years.

His most current win was this year in February...winning "first" place at the "Craig Cameron Extreme Trail Challenge" on his horse "Chili"! I hope to be able to attend another Clinic this Fall.Just another "Bridge" !! No big deal!! Getting in position to start learning how to side pass over logs & etc. We are trying to accomplish side passing to the right. We have a little room for some improvement! LOL!! My goal is to win the next "In Hand Trail Challenge" with flying colors!!
Until the next Clinic...stay tuned in!!

TREAT TRAINING...

Do you see me? It's time for my "TREAT TRAINING"!!Are "bigger" treats easier to catch?? Now for the real deal... I can actually catch the" little" ones better!! :-) I'm catching more than I'm missing...now that I'm 6 months old!! Did I tell you that I'm already 6 months old?? I (Nedra) always loved doing this with Chips! We taught him to catch his treats by starting with popcorn on his nose. It was just as much fun training him as it has been training our new little guy.
Showing off my best side??

I just love being able to play in Mom's special yard!!It looks like we are trying to grow some more puppies in the pots..."NOT" any flowers this year!! LOL!!
Only if we were "guaranteed" another puppy like Chase!! :-)

Granddaughter's...Horses and Spring Break...

Our Neighbor was kind enough to invite our Granddaughter over for some fun in the saddle!! Her two Granddaughter's were here visiting from New York and invited Cassidy to come over. They wanted to share with her some of the horse riding fun!! Veronica was very patient and took what ever time was needed to give Cassidy some pointers before she climbed into the saddle.Ready to try it out?... Sure!! But he's so tall!! Always helps to have a little lift from behind!! Made it!!
Just a little adjustment...borrowed boots are hard to get into the stirrups on the first try...especially when they are 3 sizes bigger than I need!! LOL!!
It was worth "ALL" the effort!! I feel happy...I feel loved...I feel blessed!!

I'm sure glad that my Grandma & Grandpa have such fun neighbors to go visit!!

I (Cassidy) was a little disappointed when I found out that 'Tigger" & "Wyatt" we not quite ready for a young girl like me to ride yet. I'm really looking forward to when "GRANDPA SAYS" I can ride them!!...but until then it sure is nice to have other choices. :-)

THANKS EVERYONE FOR MAKING THE START OF MY SPRING BREAK SO SPECIAL!!

SAME TIME AND PLACE NEXT YEAR???

Hay!!.. by the way...my name is "CODY"!! Yeah!!.. I'm the "one" that keeps these girls smiling & having fun!!

Steve and I would like to thank them for an awesome trail ride today!! :-) I know we have come a long way from home! I can't believe that a young puppy like you is "already" tired!! Maybe next time you will want to stay home!!...NOT!!

New best friends??
It's what every girl dreams of...a cute puppy & a beautiful horse on a trail ride!!
Wyatt & Nedra in a perfectly groomed arena!!
Working hard & trying to impress my new owner!!

Until me meet again!!

Next time maybe we will have to slip in a video of the newest team at the ranch!!

I'VE GOT A "SECRET"...

LOOKS LIKE "SECRETS" MAKE YOU WANT TO VISIT "MY BLOG" !!
INTRODUCING...~"MONTANA SILVERADO"~ ...aka... ~"WYATT"~ !!
Yesterday he took a very, very long ride to his "new" home!! He is what Steve & I have been looking for over a year and a half!! It sure has taken a long time to find this great horse!!
He will be a lot of fun to ride ...now I will finally be able to join my sweet hubby "Steve" on cattle events and lots of trail rides!!
Tigger is coming along great but I want to keep it that way and not rush him into things that he's "NOT" ready for.
It was a little cloudy and dark the morning we picked up Wyatt.
The picture shows the happy new owner and the sorta sad past owner.
I'm sure Tigger and his new buddy Wyatt will have many years bringing me much joy and creating tons of lasting memories for Steve and I. :-)
Happy in his new stall and home!!

As you can see he really enjoyed his stall by all the shavings in his mane. He was a tired boy... remember he was in the trailer heading to Mabton for "10" hours!!

Enough with all the kisses I know you love me...but you're embarrassing me in front of all my "new" barn buddies !!
Now that you have had a good look at my new horse "Wyatt"...you can see why he makes a great addition to "OUR" barn!!

I want to thank a special little girl...her name is Carissa. On her very own she wanted to make sure Wyatt was groomed perfect before his new owners came to pick him up. The day before she gave him a bath with all the extra TLC. The next morning before she left for school she ran out to the barn to check on Wyatt to make sure he had stayed cleaned up thru the night. She did notice he needed a little touch up...so informed her mom "Christine" that she would have to take care of him before we arrived!! I thought that was something worth sharing with everyone...it's not every day you can get a 11 year old to take on such a special project!! Thanks again Carissa for making Wyatt look so handsome!

Looks like between Tigger, Chase & Wyatt I will have plenty of things to blog about this year and them some!! LOL!! Oh!!... I forgot I probably will be taking a little time and making some space for "Steve" and "Twister" once in awhile! LOL!!

Speaking of Steve I also want to give him a special "THANK YOU" for driving to Southern Oregon not only once but twice...first time was to look and the second was to take the trailer all that way to haul Wyatt home. When we finally arrived home yesterday after many long hours of riding & driving... Wyatt unloaded better than Steve!! I thought I would have to bribe him out of the truck with a Pepsi & some chocolate chip cookies!! LOL!!

Thanks again Steve...you keep me smilin from "sun up" to "sun down"!! :-)
