FALL AFTERNOON PASTURE TIME...

WE HAVE BEEN WINTERIZING THE WHOLE RANCH !!

Water irrigation lines blown out...hoses rolled up & of course tank heaters

installed in "ALL" the water troughs.

While we were getting everything ready for our "FIRST FREEZE"...

We decided to let the horses out for some pasture time... 2x2 . :-)

Twister and Tigger are enjoying some fresh greens !!

Twister is sure a handsome guy !!

Tigger still has the signs of being ridden today !! :-)

Wyatt even got to go out and play !!

He was pouting the whole time Tigger & Twister were out playing.

This is Starine...Steve's new beauty !!

She gets some extra shots...since she is the "NEW" one in the barn.

I'm not sure if she has ever been out on pasture before ??

She sure didn't wander far from the barn or her buddies.

Steve and Starine will be in a NCHA cutting show this weekend.

I hope to have some great pictures to post next week. :-)

WILD WOMEN OF THE WEST WEEKEND

As you can see... I DID WILD WOMEN OF THE WEST WEEKEND !!

MY DEAR SWEET HUBBY...made sure we were very comfortable for the weekend !!

He took us ( Wyatt and I ) to Bonina in Eltopia early Friday morning and made sure we were in the perfect spot.

Wyatt and I had all the comforts of home and then some !!

It was the beginning of a great weekend for my horse and I !!I didn't go for the cutting lessons.

Wyatt and I had a very important job in the cutting pen.

We both worked as a team to help hold the cattle in the upper middle part of the pen.

It takes a horse and rider on each top side to help the Cutter make a clean cut.

Then look out and watch the magic happen!!

It also take 2 horses and riders to help hold cattle in the bottom part of the pen...

they are called turn back riders. We all help to make sure each Cutter gets a chance to make a great score !!

Here is a picture of Wyatt and I to prove how hard we worked all weekend !!

I had some one taking some extra pictures for me...but my camera decided to double expose

all the extra shots. :-(

Maybe it is time for a really nice new one !!

We also had a cooking contest on Saturday night...that was after I was in the saddle "ALL" day !!

I had some one take my place and my horse so I could go create my entries.

I was able to make 2 different recipes...but the one that was the hit with the most votes...

was my fresh cranberry salsa. That is how I won this cute apron and a cute cap with bling on it. I should of taken a picture of the cap too...I always think of extra things during a new post.

One of the gals named Mary made this cute apron and the Wrangler pockets are

from her husbands jeans. LOL!!

Needless to say I had a great time and made some new friends in the horse world !!
It really helped to build my self confidence even more...Wyatt and I had a ton of fun !!
I'm sure he is even looking forward to going back next year !! :-) :-)

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS "HOOPER", WA ???

As you will see by all my pictures...we did find "HOOPER", WA !!Creative & Cute !!

Maybe he just wanted to prove to me... that we really would have plenty of toilet paper for the weekend. LOL!!

This was Wyatt's & Nedra's first day of the Trail Clinic.

We started with some ground work...

it helps the horses to be more accepting/ready to listen to their rider's.

After lunch we got busy and started working on the real thing.
This was a water obstacle that Wyatt was working on crossing.

By the end of the weekend he just loved crossing thru the water !!

The next funny obstacle was these crazy Styrofoam noodles.

Wyatt loved them at first... but quickly learned to hate putting his head/face thru them.

Needless to say by the end... he had changed his mind and just loved going thru them !!

This is "THREE HUGE TRACTOR TIRES" stacked up against a huge bank/hill.

Wyatt took a look and said no problem... and away we went up the hill !!

This was my favorite obstacle of the weekend !! :-)

I have to say this was another fun one !!

We had to make the horses walk/trot thru these deep ditches/trenches.

After I talked Wyatt into taking a look...he just loved trimming the banks of dry grass !! LOL!!

This was getting him to back thru a "L" ... then climbing up on a circle of rocks and doing a complete turn around on top. No problem he loved climbing up on "ANYTHING" !!

Jumping a "HUGE" log and trot/lope over a smaller log.

We just love jumping things together !! Steve's not so happy

taking pictures of me jumping over things. LOL!!

We had to go thru this cool ranch gate with Buzzards ( another creative & cute) on top !!

Then we had to take a stroll thru the tunnel. :-)

We had some steep rocky hills to climb !!

We also had some high step downs to accomplish

and we did it all with no problems or unwanted dismounts. LOL!!
We did have a lot more obstacles to work on...I think there were about 20 or so.

On Sunday afternoon we had a couple trail challenges with the rest

of the rider's and it was a blast !! Looking forward to our next one !!

As you can see by all the great photos that Steve took ...

Wyatt and I had a blast working together...even if the temperature was a 100 degrees !!

I think I finally realized what "COWGIRL UP" means !!

Looking forward to going back to "HOOPER CROSSING"...maybe next time with Tigger. :-)
