Wyatt...Water and Cattle...

I just wanted to share a few pictures of Wyatt and I at Ukiah, Oregon.

It was so much fun to be able to sneak in a weekend together !!

After having so much fun together... it was "real hard" to leave him back at the trainer's.

As you can see he is becoming such a hard working and trusting companion. :-)

I'm getting anxious for another fun weekend...hopefully the middle of August.

I'm learning how to use some new picture software and I'm having a hard time uploading both collages that I have made to the same post...so that is why you will have to view 2 about the same subject and weekend. Sorry !!

Turn Back Horse and Rider...

Here are some pictures of Steve and Twister in Action !!

They made a great team !! Twister has really been digging all the cattle action !!

Nina and company really appreciated "all" their help and long hours in the cutting pen.

One day they both worked 12 long hours !! I sure have some tough guy's !!

Nina is the one in the upper left hand corner working one of her colts.

I think I forgot to mention in my earlier post that she is Wyatt's horse trainer.

He is coming along great and I will share in one of my next posts in a couple of days.

Thanks for staying tuned in !!Posted by Picasa

Ukiah Oregon Cutting Practice...

Our horse trainer Nina invited us to a cutting practice in Ukiah, Oregon.

Here are some of the fun shots of our 4 days in Ukiah!!

They had to bring is separate herds of cattle off the range and across the road every day. All the cutters love to have really fresh cattle to practice with.

It was a beautiful place to ride our horses and help out our Trainer. :-)

We even had a couple passing by from Ohio and wanted to know what Steve and the guy's were doing. Steve thought it was pretty obvious that they were bringing the cattle across the road. Steve is so polite and explained what they were doing...then the Ohio couple got really excited...said they have never seen "REAL COWBOY'S" herd cattle before!! Then they asked can we stay and watch??? Who knew that we would be entertaining a couple from Ohio out in the middle of Oregon !!Posted by Picasa

Need a Tractor Tire ??

As you can see Steve and I have been working hard at making some obstacles for our horses !!

This is just one part...the "HUGE" tractor tire one !!

It took many shovels of dirt to fill these "BIG BOY'S" !!

So far...Steve's horse Twister is the pro... He has already climbed over the mountain of "3" multiple times !!

But... Tigger is coming "fast" up the back side !! LOL!

Hopefully I will be able to prove my story very soon...with some awesome pictures of the "2" !!

So stay tuned... you won't want to miss a thing this Summer !!

P.S. I'm having fun using some "new" software !

The best part it's free !!Posted by Picasa

Great Day 4 "TWO" 2 Celebrate

Before I get started on my post for the day...I need to share about my evening out last night !!

Quite a few of my very dear, sweet, loving and caring friends "SURPRISED" me with a dinner party at a favorite restaurant in town.

THE REASON...
They wanted to celebrate my 1 year anniversary of the Lord sparing my life !!

It is sometimes hard to be reminded about such an awful day...

but then you are made to realize how much you are loved by everyone !!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also want to thank my sweet husband of 41 years ....
for being there thru the "worst & the best" of 2010 !!
He continues to be brave...support & love me everyday !!
There is no question about it...when each day is done & before the sun goes down...
I'm reminded how truly blessed I am !!
FIRST OF THE SEASON... 2011
First Cutting...Almost Not !!
Let's just say "Mother Nature's" sense of humor made it a little "extra" challenging !!
But...Yes there is always a "BUT" !!
Things worked out "once again" in our favor !!
Nothing is gained by worrying...except a good dose of stomach ulcers !!
"LOOK" @ that straight line!!
You would think that the person that cut that was a machinist or something !! LOL!! I just love our long row of Plum trees !
All dry and ready to bale !!
PEPSI ATTACK !!
IT WAS 80+ degrees on BALING DAY !!
Just like a "Good Neighbor"...he's there when you need one !!
That ice cold PEPSI sure hit the spot !!
Lots of quality grass hay bales !! :-)
On the way to the hay stack !!
Can I (Chase) help pick-up bales ?
Isn't our classic harrow bed cute ??
Almost as cute as the operator !! :-)
Hope you enjoyed our story from "behind the scenes" !!
I know that we left out a few steps...but I didn't want to bore you all with to many details !!
I want "all" of you to stay interested and stop by once in awhile !! :-)
